Meet the family

A chest of 24 little boxes

In Grandma Ruth's attic there is an old chest with 24 numbered boxes. Every December day, the children open one. Inside is an object (a seed, an olive branch, a clay lamp) that opens a Bible story.

  • Ana, 10. Curious, always taking notes.
  • Pedro, 7. Full of questions.
  • Grandma Ruth. An archaeologist who knows where every story happened.
What's inside

One comic page a day, Eden to Bethlehem

Each day has a four-panel comic, a Bible verse, a family question, a simple activity and a "history clue": a map, a place or an archaeology fact. Two bonus days follow on 25 December and 6 January.

  • Ana and Pedro look on as Grandma Ruth lights an oil lamp next to the open chest in the attic.
    Day 1In the Beginning
  • Noah's family stands on a green hillside as the animals leave the ark under a rainbow.
    Day 3The Rainbow
  • The prophet Samuel pours oil on the head of young David, a shepherd boy kneeling with his staff, while his brothers watch.
    Day 7The Youngest Brother
  • An angel in white, softly glowing, speaks to Mary, who sits on a stool in a stone house.
    Day 16The Angel Visits Mary
  • Mary and Joseph smile at baby Jesus lying in the manger, with a donkey and sheep nearby.
Day 24Today a Savior Is Born
  • A great crowd of angels in white fills the night sky, arms raised in praise.
Day 24Glory to God in the highest
How it works

Read, talk, glue

  1. Read on your phone

From 1 December, open the day's page on your phone or tablet and read the comic together.

  2. Talk about it

Read the verse and answer the family question. There is a simple activity if you have a few more minutes.

  3. Glue the symbol

Cut out the day's symbol and glue it on the map. On 24 December, the road reaches Bethlehem.

The Promise Path map poster: a winding road from a garden with fruit trees, past pyramids, tents, camels and a temple city, up to a small town on a hill.

A map that fills up

"The Promise Path" poster runs from Eden to Bethlehem with 24 stops. One symbol a day, and your child can see Christmas coming. No tree or nativity set needed, so it works in any home.

Missed a day? No problem. Just read two the next day.

Questions

What age is it for?

It is made for kids 8 to 12 who read on their own. Children 4 to 7 enjoy it with an adult reading along.

Do I need a printer?

No. The 24 days are read on a phone or tablet. You can take the printable file (map and symbols, about 10 to 12 sheets) to any print shop.

Is it Catholic or Protestant?

Both. We use only books found in both Bibles and avoid topics that divide the traditions. Where Catholic Bibles number a verse differently, we show both.

Which Bible translation do you quote?

The Berean Standard Bible (public domain), quoted word for word. The stories are our own retelling.

How do I get the files?

It is an instant digital download. Nothing is shipped. After payment, the files are ready in your account on the store.

Can I use it at church or in a classroom?

A regular purchase is for one household, and you can print as many copies as your family needs, every year. For a class or children's ministry, a Church / Classroom License will be available.
